CAPE MAY PASSES A PAIR OF ORDINANCES
The City of Cape May passed two ordinances on Tuesday. One ordinance was passed on second reading that prohibited the use of fireworks within the city limits. The idea was suggested by the Fire Chief Jerry Inderwies Jr. Fireworks that are used in the city must be shot off from the water, with the passage of this ordinance. The second ordinance, was passed on first reading, and would appropriate $100,000 for the restoration of Rotary Park. This money is already in the possession of the city through a grant; however, the council had to pass this ordinance to create a funding mechanism to use the money. In total, the restoration will cost the city no money.
