JERSEY SHORE STORE EXTENDED IN MANHATTAN

The Jersey Shore Store will remain open for an additional month. Secretary of State Nina Wells announced that the popular "Jersey Shore Store" in Manhattan until Aug. 9. "We were excited to bring a piece of the unique Jersey Shore experience to the mass array of prospective visitors a short drive away or train ride,” said Wells. “Moreover, the overwhelmingly positive response we’ve received on the Jersey Shore Store has brought the wonder of the state’s 127 miles of pristine beaches to a whole new audience; I’m thrilled we’ll now have the opportunity to do so into August.” The Jersey Shore Store has been drawing as many as 300 people per day to the interactive travel boutique. The Jersey Shore Store is a literal shore oasis, featuring sand sculptures, a boardwalk, a tiki bar, the sounds of surf and seagulls and other iconic shore pleasures like salt water taffy and cotton candy.

FAMOUS JERSEY BOXER DEAD, WIFE ACCUSED IN INCIDENT

Famous boxing champion Arturo Gatti was found dead at the age of 37. Police believe his 23-year-old wife Amanda Rodrigues is responsible and have taken her into custody. Rodrigues denies responsibility; Gatti was found strangled from a purse strap, along with blood stains being found at the scene. Gatti was born in Canada but relocated to Jersey City during his teenage years. The former champion lived in New Jersey throughout his fighting career and maintained a home following his retirement in 2007. Many of Gatti's famous fights were held in Atlantic City, where he always had a strong following.

MIDDLE TOWNSHIP COPS SEARCH FOR MAN IN DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Middle Township police spent part of their weekend looking for a local man who beat his wife inside a home on Goshen Road. Police have identified the man wanted in the incident as William McClurkin, who allegedly beat his wife inside a home at 555 Goshen Road Friday evening. A child at the house called police when the attack took place. The woman was rendered unconscious as a result of the beating, and suffered a possible broken jaw and other injuries. McClurkin allegedly fled on foot when police moved in.

MILLVILLE WOMAN CHARGED WITH DUI IN MIDDLE TWP. ACCIDENT

A Millville woman has been arrested and charged with drunk driving in connection with a motor vehicle accident on Route 47 early Saturday morning. Police announced charges have been filed against Ashley Raube, who drove her vehicle off northbound Route 47 shortly before 2am Saturday, near Dias Creek. An off duty Lower Township police officer witnessed the accident, and Middle Township police quickly arrived. Two male passengers were also inside the vehicle. Other charges are expected to be forthcoming against Raube.

BAD PERFORMANCE: NEWARK AIRPORT WORST IN COUNTRY

If you're looking to get to there from here in a hurry, Newark's Liberty International Airport is not the way to fly. New data released this month shows that the airport ranked dead last in the country in on-time arrivals and was next to last in on time departures. About 8,000 planes were delayed at the Newark airport in April alone, which is about twice as many that were delayed in September, 2008. The FAA cites heavy volume and weather issues as the main culprits.

GAS PRICES CONTINUE TO FALL IN CAPE MAY COUNTY

Gasoline prices continue to tumble in Cape May County. According to the latest price survey released by Mid Atlantic AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas in our region is $2.44; that's down by six cents from just one week ago. One year ago, local motorists were paying nearly four dollars per gallon for gasoline. AAA believes that there has been too much supply, and little demand for gas, and that's why the prices continue to fall this summer.

PA WILL NOT FOLLOW NEW JERSEY'S LEAD, RENDELL SAYS NO TO TAX AMNESTY

A proposal to bring additional revenue into Pennsylvania was shot down by Gov. Ed Rendell. The Governor said he didn't believe the program would work and called it a "gimmick." This news comes on the heels of an overly successful program run by New Jersey that allowed for the reinstitution of the Homestead Rebate program. The proposal was made by Republican state lawmakers, and was based of New Jersey's program.

LARGEST SKINNY-DIP ACROSS AMERICA ATTEMPTED

Hundreds of New Jersey residents were among an attempt at being the largest skinny-dip in North America. An event in Basking Ridge had just over 130 people jump into a pool at 3 PM on Saturday. Witnesses were on hand and a photograph was taken, to be sent in to the Guinness Book of World Records. A second skinny-dip event was held in Sandy Hook as well. Similar nudist were taking part in this record setting attempt across the United States.

SIX RESCUED OFF COAST OF OCEAN CITY

Six people were saved off the coast of Ocean City by the Coast Guard and a Good Samaritan. The Coast Guard received a call at 4:09 p.m. from a crew member aboard the Legal Holiday reporting they spotted two overturned sailboats and six people in the water. A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Great Egg, N.J., arrived on scene and recovered three people. The crew of the Legal Holiday recovered the remaining three people. All six people were taken to the Ocean City Yacht Club in Ocean City. No injuries were reported.
